Growth Regulators

ShortStop

ShortStop

ShortStop (paclobutrazol) slows the growth of trees and woody shrubs at the growing point of the branches (apical meristem). Shortstop holds the growth at approximately 10% of its normal growth and the control lasts for a minimum of three years. ShortStop generates secondary benefits in treated trees. The redirection of energy from growth creates a healthier plant. The biology of ShortStop is ale to reduce the plant’s growth by interfering with the production of the hormone, gibberellin. The product is soil applied, either by soil injection or basal drench, and is water-immiscible (won’t leach site). The application can be done any time of the year, except when the soil is frozen or saturated (heavy rain).
